Holy Cross Priory Chapel
Holy Cross Priory, Cross In Hand, TN21 0TS
The Heathfield end of our parish was originally sited in Mutton Hall Hill on the outskirts of the town. Our parish (Heathfield with Burwash as it was originally called) was established in 1964, having originally been part of Mayfield Parish.
St Catherine's was built in 1953 on land donated by Mrs Lennox-Wright, and Fr Simon Larkin was the first resident priest.
In 2014 St Catherine's closed, and at the invitation of the Sisters of Grace and Compassion, our parish community moved to its current site at Holy Cross Priory, Cross in Hand.
All parishioners are welcome to join the daily Office celebrated by the Sisters. Times are available on the notice board of the Chapel.
As you will see when you visit, the Chapel is a beautiful building with wonderful acoustics. It also benefits from underfloor heating, so is wonderfully warm and welcoming, even in the depths of winter!
Please come and join us if you are new to the parish or just visiting!
